At Allocadia we are building a community with our team, customers, and the neighborhoods in which we live and work. How we engage with our community continues to evolve as we do! Here are a few ways our team gives back.
Team Lead Initiatives
When a team member is passionate about a cause, we give them the reigns to lead the charge while supporting their efforts in any way we can. Recently two members of our Sales team, Emmery and Matt, recruited a group of Allocadians to support Movember and grow their mos for men’s health! With Allocadia matching donations up to $100 per participant the team raised $3,450 and grew some spectacular facial hair in the process.
Company Lead Initiatives
For those who want to get involved in their community but don’t have a particular cause they’re personally passionate about, we also provide opportunities throughout the year where we come together as a team to do some good! Whether it’s through volunteering, fundraising, or utilizing our expertise we offer companywide events that are accessible to everyone.
For example, our team competes annually at TechPong, a Vancouver ping pong competition between local tech companies that raises money for local charities. Our social committee organized various events in support of this cause, and we raised over $2,000 for Zajac Ranch for Children.
Ahead of the holidays, Allocadia also has a tradition of sponsoring the YWCA’s Presents of Peace program in support of families in Vancouver. Every year this program continues to grow, and this year was no different with over $1,500 raised for our sponsored families.
To have continuous impact and form relationships in our community, Allocadia has formed strategic partnership with organizations that align to our values. In 2016 we partnered with Simon Fraser University to send female students in STEM degrees to conferences around North America. This conference fund grows every year to support students who are exploring careers in technology to have experiences that will propel their professional journeys.
Allocadia is also a founding member of the BC Tech Collective. It was founded to inspire individuals and companies in the tech industry to collaborate with one another on common interests and causes. The goal of the Tech Collective is to elevate and expand our impact across the province for generations to come.
